Answers to the most common questions - about how scoring works, what data we access, and how the algorithm actually decides your reach.
- X Radar runs your draft through X's open-source ranking model - the same one that decides how many people actually see a post. It predicts the probability of every action a viewer might take (reply, repost, like, mute) and multiplies each by that action's known weight. The result is a composite score you can act on before you publish, not after.
- X Radar requests read-only OAuth access - it can see your public profile and timeline, but it cannot post, follow, or access your DMs. You can revoke access from X's connected-apps settings at any time. No password is ever shared or stored.
- When the author of a post replies back to your reply, it fires one of the heaviest positive signals in X's ranking model - far heavier than a like. X Radar detects threads with high reply-back velocity and surfaces them as 'seed' opportunities, so you can reply early and ride the engagement wave.
- X Radar tracks all 38 signals in X's open-source algorithm at the commit we pin, using their published values. The heaviest positives are someone copying your link and pasting it elsewhere (+20), a reply from an account that follows you back (+20), DM shares and quote posts (+5 each), plain replies (+5) and new follows (+4) - a like is only +0.5. The heaviest negatives are reports (-234), mutes and blocks (-90) and "not interested" taps (-43.2).
- Hashtags yes, links no. Three or more hashtags read as spam to the classifier that screens posts before ranking even begins. Links are not penalised in X's published ranker at all - a link open scores +0.2, a positive weight. What a link really costs is the continuous read time that keeps earning while someone stays on the post, so a link post still needs to be worth reading on its own. Skip 'link in bio' CTAs: the profile-click weight now ships at 0.
- Schedulers post content; X Radar scores it first. Before you publish, you see a predicted reach score, which signals are helping or hurting, and ready-to-post alternatives tuned to your voice - all derived from the actual open-source algorithm weights, not generic 'best practice' advice.
